Its the year 2003. some poor kid was "forced" into the NCC..
ok... maybe not force..because of 2 reasons: 1) My cousin doesnt want me to join the NPCC. this is the same cousin who is 1 year older than me and who rejected the rank of staff sergeant because his CO is biased against him and doesnt want him to be SM even though everyone voted for him..i think.. 2) good ole NPCC was like pulling and bugging me to join. so i joined the NCC to sorta get back at them..they must have know whats a good value when they see one..
So here i am, in the NCC. It was cool at first. after much training, we had our first parade which is the ORD parade for the Part Ds. Charles was sorta my role model then. He still is now. sorta.
My first big major parade was at HQ NCC. the changing of command parade. all the part As were there to be part of it. The parade square was huge when i first saw it.
Hock sheng was our contingent IC.
After much hard work in the Corps, i was among the 5 who was promoted to the rank of Private First Class in school. I felt kinda honoured to recieved it because its prestigious in our school.
We had our first military Flight experience later on. well, it wasnt my first time being around with military planes or tanks or ships or guns and anything military. I've had enough experience when i was younger. at that time, there were many Exhibitions around singapore and those were the bomb!
I held my first machine gun when i was in kindergarten. a mounted .50 Cal! so u can see i was kinda bored when we sat the C130 ride. I met this Girl called Jiexi after the flight. We didnt talked much. i kinda forgotten about her after awhile.. but the twins Remembered her somehow. god knows! they'll be back to taunt me and her in our second year. But who'll ever thought that me and her will become best friends in such short time....
Promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal at the end of the year and i was relieved to finally have a roof on top although the PFC rank was nicer.
