its been quite some time since i'm back from 5th ADC

and after many months of being stagnant, i must admit, i had fun in this course

Tumbling Down

as if all my recent worries aint enough, i wont be online for very long now. my desktop crashed on me again. the 2nd time. the last time it happened, it was year 2006.

maybe its a good thing that it crashed. further upgrades for me. and i get to spend time away from the virtual world. get more sun and stuffs. however, it might mean patching back up with my ps2 though not that i mind anyway.

but who's gonna feed my RC people and play my band of heroes for me D:

the only thing which actually pisses me off is that i'm downloading airborne halfway and then my desktop crashed. i just wanna play some games dammit.

the last time my desktop crashed, i had audi's help in everything actually. he gave me a new ram and stuffs. i think. but now that i look back at it, though it was for a short period of time, i certainly enjoyed my time with audi. no dont look at me with those disgusting eyes, i'm not gay.

I met him while i was just a small little kid in secondary school. secondary 1 to be exact.

see thats me above! notice the high socks? HAHA! oh and those PE shorts, i still have them now. and i still wear them. they look like FBTs to me now actually. pretty comfy.

anyway, audi was my senior in the NCC. we didnt talk much actually, just some random chit chats here and there, now and then. and then he graduated while i still have a couple more years to go. 1 actually. and then he came back to school. and we started filming. it was him who piqued my interest in the world of filming.

we did some short films back then.

i always laughed whenever i see this! but i would love to do more of this in the future. my last taste would be a few weeks ago where i helped riley in her project by being the main lead.

and then we started playing operation flashpoint. for those of you who do not know what ofp is, its a first and third person shooter game. the SAF uses this to simulate battlefields for their OCS cadets. we hooked it up, had our mic tested and played it almost everyday. it definitely was fun while it lasted.

though our time together was short-lived :(

How to let girls take the initiative to chase you

however, do it at your own risk

lai lai.............. let me impart some techniques to you all........ . many people have problems approaching strangers, let alone girls on the streets. but it's not hard at all to go up to a stranger at all......... the following tips will ensure your success

my body is still aching from monday's failure

more specifically, my abs.

my left leg is getting its strength back

i'll be able to start training soon by weekend i hope

i'll be doing fartlek as suggested by fraser

the results wont be instantaneous

but i'll be modifying it for fast results i guess

and once the next test is over, i'll start pushing my body

i'm left with a few presentations to go before i can finally concentrate on my exams

most likely i'll be staying in the school dorm for a few days to study

so that i wont have my computer as a distraction

okay most of you have most probably heard of what happened

A WOMAN'S WORTH

Today was interesting enough

instead of the usual classes.we had to attend a conference.about a thousand of us

on women rights...?

we had a few guest speakers. but most notably was Ms Dana Lam, president of AWARE

yes that AWARE

everyone knew what had happen. if you dont, erm which rock did you live under? so anyway alot of topics were covered.

family domestic violence

dating violence

gender equality

we had daniel martin from 93.8 live coming in to do a live recording of it! so you can hear the discussions this friday at 9pm on the radio okay! though the most controversial and heated discussions werent recorded down.

dana lam was very much particular about gender equality. although her presentation was flawed and her findings were without any good basis. i feel that she was trying to shove her point down our throats and she was rather biased against the male gender.

i feel gender equality, in my opinion that is, has two major topics to talk about in singapore.

1) Politics

as we all know, there arent many women in the parliament although for what reason, i still do not know. i'm sure many women feels that they do not have a strong foundation to voice their opinion in the parliament.

okay i shall admit, women in politics arent my strong point. so girls! what are your VIEWS on women in politics?

2) National ~~Slavery~~ Service

THIS ONE! Singaporean guys, for a very long time, felt that they are being treated unfairly, having been forced to go into ns whether they like it or not. and that the girls and foreigners do not need to.

foreigners are another ball game all together

alot of guys feel that because of the 2 years service, they lost alot of their youths and that they enter the working field much much later than the girls and thus are at and unfair advantage.

plus there's the 10 year ICT cycle and 40 years of reservice... -.-

today, this girl pointed out that its not fair for women to serve ns because, she lay down the question, would the guys rather have 2 years of ns OR 40 years of menstruation and all the pain that comes with it.

all i can say is, what a bunch of bullcrap. thats like comparing apple with durian.

so how our body is made up affects what are our liabilities and responsiblities and the salary we're drawing?

but i'm glad i managed to attend this conference because it really opened up my eyes to alot of things. and it showed me what i really wanna do next time! although i feel that it is somewhat lopsided because we all hear it from female perspectives and not from the male side.

as alex pointed out, if its all about gender equality, shouldnt there be 2 women and 2 men on the panel instead of 4 women?

Today..

was a rather nice day~

although morning's lecture was a bore

like seriously

luckily Adel came to my rescue!

went out for lunch with Adel, her mom and sister at beauty world even though i had like a quick cai png around 10plus because i was feeling hungry and managed to wolf down all of it within 10mins lol

but i still had some space in my stomach~!

Adel's mom insisted we go play pool after lunch in which i go on to win Adel 2-1.

most of my time in school today was spent walking about in school

because i have absolutely nothing to do lol

first lesson at 9 was only a briefing which took around 10 to 15 mins

First day of school

nothing much happened. reached school at around 8 before meeting up with wilson and going to the aircraft hangar for our first lesson.

which kinda reminded me how me and chunyang "lied" to shihui about how some NP students can take courses on flying and every night the hangar will be open to students wanting to fly the planes there lol

and WISP was...

lots of girls in my class. same goes for aerospace but WISP was like a debating session between the girls lah. i wanted to speak up and voice my opinions but then ah..

truth be told, we were very very very lucky against arsenal early this morning. lady luck decided to help us. but not everyday is a sunday.

Carrick you better buck up your performance. where is the wonderful passing which everybody knows you're capable of? stop putting square balls and passing back to the defence for fuck's sake. turn and pass towards the strikers! oh yes your passing yesterday was top notch~! all of them found their target. the arsenal players.

to be honest the only player i see on the pitch was darren fletcher! he was everywhere~! tackling passing running. like he go mass photocopy himself. honestly the most underrated player. but we all know what he is capable of.

today's training was okay. i'm still getting use to my striker role but now with melvin back i reckon coach might play me back to right wing since stanley is out. just need to work on my finishing i guess. master of spectacular goals but behkan with tap ins. the volley i hit with my left today while doing shooting was awesome. i only hope i can produce the same thing week in week out.

it was almost similar to Robin Van Persie's wonder goal against Charlton.

another match next week~! hope i can recover fast enough for this. i had a knee crunching moment with jarrad just now. thats what you get for going up against a player twice your size. sheesh. and my ankle is kinda stiff~

i feel that i'm kinda playing in Owen's style when in striker. hug the last defender (not literally) and make a fast break with a through ball or early cross. i like crosses. because i am confident of my heading skills.

just got home. was at kent ridge secondary this morning for a friendly against yonghui's company. and we won 2-0! the first was an unfortunate own goal by one of the centrebacks because i kept pressuring them. the other was by me!

nice pass by kelvin to matt before cutting it and hitting a low cross for me to tap in to the top right corner~!

finally opened by account with that! thats my first time playing as a striker too. most of the time i was always in the position of right winger. i should have scored more goals. my header when to the wrong side of the post and some of my shots went straight to the keeper.

YES, I am happily attached and in a meaningful relationship but, since the other day when a friend of mine lamented and wrote in the papers MY PAPER - to be exact that Singapore lacks good-looking guys as some eye candy for us ladies..

I had to agree.

I SMS-ed to thank her for the article, cos it seems like a long overdue article.. that some Alpha-Female (representative of us, the female population) ought to speak up on behalf of us - Crudos to Her! Cos in her article, she stated a fact, SG gals are quite into the dressing up thingy... so no matter how frugly she is, she is not too bad in terms of dressing K!

Well, I felt the need to contribute my two cents' worth here at my own space...

So here goes,

Singaporean men are generally slackers, in particular, their dress sense.

Even my man does not put in effort to coordinate his get-up unless

A) there is a wedding function

B) there is a formal business function

if not, on 99% of the days, most guys I observe are wearing stuff that makes them look like they just came from the slums or out of bed (btw, the out-of-bed look is officially passe)!

Sure, comfy clothes are most important, no arguments about that one but c'mon... can SG guys ever...like EVER surprise us, ladies.. with some fashion sense and grooming and dedication?

Instead of asking us to buy magazines to oogle or scan thru for good-lookers or guys who bother to dress up instead of down?

I am not asking for some toy boy looking fella or some hunky dude... NNoooOOOoooooooo!

I am merely stating a fact. SG guys either are slackers in dressing or they overdo with all the floral patterns. (I can attest to that, I know of a guy who takes to pink and flowery patterns!!! ITS SHOCKING. But he is not gay!)

Cadets

one of the perks for me, being a clt (i still refuse to call myself cadet officer ahahhaha) is that i get to meet many many many people! most of them are cadets. really. through my tour of duty strating from 2007 til now, i've taken sect comm, apc (baah whats the difference?!), pc, oc and 2ic. oic still eludes me though but i've had enough for the time being. being an oc or pc is still the best :D

i've met so many cadets that i cant even remember some of their names. okay MOST but i still recognize faces okay! its funny whever there's a huge event in hq and you get random cadets going up to you and shouting, "HI SIR! REMEMBER ME OR NOT?!" sadly, i have to say no D:

my msn contact list still got some unknown people lah. cadets and i daresay some of them are clts now :/

the internet is a very very huge place and i often hop til i reach some cadet's blog. and found out i took that cadet before. its nice to see them doing so well now :D

i still remember piak came up to me (he's a clt now, we call him piak LOL)

piak: yea during 2007 spec course. i remember you scolding us

honestly, i say the best time in anybody's ncc career, if i can call it a career that is, is their cadet's life. i like my cadet life. going for camps and such. bonding together as a platoon. it really is fun :D i've been to every camp possible as a cadet. camp pin, 1st ADC, the usual.

sure being an officer in charge of a platoon is fun too. okay i admit sometimes i scold my platoon for fun one. LOL. but i dont do that anymore okay~! i'm a very reasonable person! you ask me for 5mins break i will give 2mins one :D

okay anyway, being as a trainee is still the best lah~ too bad i wont have any chance now since i'm an officer le.

at least until i got my free pass to tekong resort that is.....
